Takamine har med en teknikk kalt ”Thermal Aging” fått til en gitar med en åpen og dynamisk lyd. Thermal Top-serien fins i to ulike utførelser med sider i enten heltre rosewood eller heltre mahogni. Mahogni-versjonen låter stort med fokus på mellomtone mens rosewood-varianten har mer fokus på bass og diskant. Alle gitarer i Therman Top-serien kommer med Takamines nye TLD-2 preamp. Preampen sitter monterad direkte på outputjacken hvilket gir en smart løsning uten å lage hull i gitaren for preampen. Inklusiv hardcase.
