Takamine har med en teknikk kalt ”Thermal Aging” fått til en gitar med en åpen og dynamisk lyd. Thermal Top-serien fins i to ulike utførelser med sider i enten heltre rosewood eller heltre mahogni. Mahogni-versjonen låter stort med fokus på mellomtone mens rosewood-varianten har mer fokus på bass og diskant. Alle gitarer i Therman Top-serien kommer med Takamines nye TLD-2 preamp. Preampen sitter monterad direkte på outputjacken hvilket gir en smart løsning uten å lage hull i gitaren for preampen. Inklusiv hardcase. This is the latest model among the highly acclaimed TT Series of «Thermal Top» acoustics from Takamine. The top wood is treated with high heat resulting in a played in vintage tone and feel that is surprising in a brand new instrument.The body and neck are bound in elegant grained ivoroid binding. The guitars is appointed with subtle 3mm abalone dots, an abalone rosette, and a distinctive abalone T on the headstock. The built in TLD-2 Line Driver preamp and Takamine’s legendary Palathetic pickup system ensures a perfect sound when plugged in.
